I Highly Recommend: 6 Instagram Accounts You Should Probably Be Following
Hey there, Friend! I am guessing, since you are HERE that you are a fan of photography on some level. I am guessing, also, since you are alive in 2018 that you know about Instagram-- this rad social media platform specifically for sharing pictures-- and you may even have an active account! If I am correct on either of those accounts, THIS POST IS FOR YOU! I have loved Instagram since before I had a phone that could support it (I was a late smart-conformer, Friends) because I have been into pictures for as long as I can remember. I like looking at pretty things! These days I enjoy a daily scroll through my Instagram feed, and was just thinking the other day, MAN, if people are not looking at pretty, inspiring, fun stuff in their instagram feed, THEY ARE DOING IT WRONG. And then I thought, Valerie, maybe it's time you shared some of your favorites with the people?? And that is exactly what this blog is dedicated to. Here are some of my favorite instagram accounts to follow, and why I like them!
The first is Gray Benko, a South Carolina photographer, mother of red heads, curator of a beautifully colorful and vibrant instagram account @graybenko mostly chronicling simply fun childhood and motherhood moments. I know what you're thinking-- I'm only here for the redheads, and that is only a little true, It's also just a bright, happy feed to follow.
Nate and Jensey Root are wedding photographers (specifically wedding photographers in DISNEY) that I first started following waaaaaaay back before I was married. I fell in love with this sweet, quirky family and the dreamy photographs they took. They recently adopted the most amazing little boy named Ollie, and their Instagram @disneyroots chronicles their adventures as a family in the parks!
Taking a departure from photographers, just recently a friend sent me to the instagram @floretflower of Erin Benzakein. This is just gorgeous, gratuitous, floral eye candy. It's SO MUCH pretty, Friends. You might be thinking that you are maybe not the kind of person that needs flower pictures in your life, but you are seriously missing out if you skip over this one.
The Home Edit is a home organization company, which I know sounds very SNOOZE and not super feed-worthy. But trust me, you will love this. Every thing they post (everything they organize!) is clean, simple, labeled, and ROY G BIVed. It is so pleasing to look at. Plus Joanna and Clea are always popping into stories on @thehomeedit to share their travel adventures and be generally neurotic and hilarious in the best possible way.
Julie Taylor is someone I stumbled upon a few years ago... when I was looking for hair cutting tutorials for my boys. (Boy haircuts are totally not the point of her ministry, but look for some of the high speed Kyle Haircuts, because those things give me LIFE!) This one is considerably different than the others in this list, because the focus here is not so much visual asthetic, but what we'll call... life aesthetic. @thejulietaylor talks candidly in her feed and stories about mental health and wellness... as well as just being reassuringly quirky and encouraging. I have sent so many people to her IG account for life-giving and liberating words. If you need more TRUTH among the NOISE of the internet... follow Julie.
Last but not least... Are you following Valerie P Photography yet? If you follow me on some of my other platforms you might be like, what's the big deal??? But the big deal is the #instagramexclusive content. I share a few more pictures, extra cuteness, fun details, and behind the scenes stuff on my instagram page that you won't find other places! So to make sure you are getting allllllll the good stuff, give @valeriepphotography a follow.
Do you follow all of these instagram accounts already? If not, what the heck are you waiting for? Gog go go! Wait though-- Before you go, leave me a comment and let me know your favorite eye-candy Instagram account that deserves a follow! <3
