Mini Session FAQs
In the fall we start thinking about family photos, and one of my most popular ways to accomplish that is... Mini photo sessions! Here is everything you need to know, and everything you have been asking!
What is a mini photo session? Mini photosession are short sessions, about 20 mins, in a set location of photographer's choosing. Mini photosessions are only offered on specific dates, and often photographer has booked many sessions in a single evening.
How will I know when mini sessions are available? I will post on facebook (www.facebook.com/valeriePphotography) and on this blog when dates are announced for mini sessions in the fall. What does a mini session cost? $95 total. A $25 deposit is required to book your spot, and the remaining $60 balance is due at the time of the photoshoot.
What is included in my mini session package?
A 20 min photoshoot, and 5 images available to you through digital download.
Will there only be 5 images from my photoshoot?
Nope! There are typically 10-15 images in a mini photoshoot gallery. You can pick just your 5 favorites included in your package, or you can choose to purchase additional images or your whole gallery!
Who is a mini session for? I typically set these up for families, but if you would prefer just your kiddos, a photoshoot with your bestie, or you and your grandma... well I would love to photograph any of those people! Because of the short, easy breezy timeframe for the photoshoot, minis are great for families with young children!
How many people can be in my photoshoot? As many as you want! There will be additional cost for groups of more than 10, but I am happy to shoot large groups during mini sessions. If you would like more time (and opportunity for my poses, groupings) for an extended family, I would recommend looking at a standard or extended session!
Can I bring my dog to our mini session? Photos are done in public places, so as long as you comply with city/leash regulations and clean up after your pet, I am delighted to photograph the furry members of your family with you!
Do I get to pick the location for my photoshoot? Mini photosessions are set in specific locations selected by the photographer in advance. They are places I know well, I like to shoot at, and can easily move groups in and out in a short time period. If you have different specific location in mind I would love to chat with you about that, but would recommend booking a standard session at a different time.
What if I am running late for my photos? If you are running late, let your photographer know as soon as possible! Mini photoshoots are often booked several back to back. I am happy to photograph your family for the remaining time left in your time slot once you arrive, but I am unwilling to bump other clients. I understand life happens, and will try my best to accommodate or reschedule if need be (please be aware, a reschedule may require an additional booking fee). What should we wear for our photos?
I'm glad you asked! I wrote a whole post about this right here: https://www.valeriepphotography.com/single-post/2018/08/25/So-What-Do-I-Wear-for-Family-Pictures-My-TOP-6-TIPS-to-help-you-decide
Can I book a mini session for my newborn? Newborns require a lot of prep and time, and a whole different set up than can be done within a 'mini' time frame. If you are wanting Newborn photos, I have several different packages available you can check out here. I definitely still want to get those pics of your newbie though!!
Can I gift a mini session to a friend or family member? Absolutely! Gift certificates are available and I, personally, can think of no better gift!
What cleaning and safety practices are in place to protect my family? All family photoshoots are outside this season. Photographer is fully vaccinated, but happy to wear a mask during the photoshoot at client's request. We will still make an effort to minimize touching during photoshoots. (I may ask parents to help adjust and pose young children) I am allowing extra time between photosessions so there will be less contact between clients. Any props, benches, etc. will be sanitized between clients. If clients desire to use blankets as props (to sit on the ground or for 'snuggle sessions') I am requesting you bring your own neutral colored blankets for your photo session this season. Hand sanitizer will be available for clients and photographer.
...and lots of good vibes and prayers will be said over the safety of my clients because you guys are the most important thing to me!!!
